Five Destinations for a Girls’ Holiday
Thursday 19 April 2018 • Other, Travel
With the weather getting warmer, now is the perfect time to book your girls holiday- which is why I’ve teamed up with Last Night Of Freedom to round up the top five destinations for a girls’ holiday.
1. Newcastle
Constantly topping our top destinations list, our Geordie hometown is a must visit for any girls’ weekend. Once you’ve been, we can guarantee you’ll be back. Overflowing with huge variety of illustrious nightlife districts, including the Bigg Market, Geordie Shore’s Diamond Strip and the classy, upmarket Grey Street – you’ll be spoilt for choice with places to party. Plus, with iconic tourist hotspots such as The Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge and the glistening quayside, St James Park, and the world-renowned Angel of the North – there’s plenty of sightseeing to be done between all that partying. It’s also a commonly known fact that the further north you travel, the cheaper everything gets – so, southerners, prepare to be impressed.
2. Barcelona
One of the most popular locations for a city break from the UK, Barcelona offers a brilliant mixture of culture and entertainment unlike any other European city. The cosy cocktail bars and underground clubs nestled amongst the tall alleys of the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) offer a great atmosphere for groups. Down on the Port Olimpic promenade, huge venues like Shoko and Opium are upmarket restaurants through the day and high-end nightclubs through the night. During the day, when you’re not engaging in retail therapy or exploring the local landmarks, Barcelona’s beautiful stretches of criminally underrated beach are perfect for sipping a mojito and dipping your toes in the Med.
3. Dublin
The decadent Southern Irish capital ticks all the boxes for an indulgent girls’ weekend. The Jervis Shopping centre and surrounding streets are definitely a spot for a retail therapy lover, where the quaint, cobbled streets of the Temple Bar, with its multi-coloured bars and live music aplenty, boast a unique drinking experience suitable for every group. There’s even the Guinness Storehouse, where you can while away a boozy day in the capital, before hitting the bars later on.
4. Valencia
With beautiful beaches and a picturesque port, the sheer splendour of Valencia makes it an easy selection for this list. Valencia’s growing reputation as a pulsating party city is thoroughly deserved. Amongst the opulent historical buildings and monuments - such as the 13th century cathedral - a large provision of bars, restaurants, salsa and flamenco venues and nightclubs are filled with young, olive-skinned locals and enthusiastic foreign visitors. With great sailing trips available, the city allegedly being the home of the best paella on the planet, and boasting an ultra-reliable Mediterranean climate, Valencia is definitely up there with destinations to tick off your list for any girls’ trip.
5. Marbella
Upmarket, luxurious and glamorous, Marbella has always been popular for girls’ weekend away. The classic Costa del Sol haunt has the scorching sun, gorgeous beaches and Champagne spray pool parties aplenty – it’s no surprise it’s a classic for a girls’ weekend. Plus, Sean Connery used to live here, meaning you can officially call yourself a Bond Girl when partying here. It’s a no brainer, really.
Have you got any holidays planned with the girls? I'd love to know!

Bloggers Made Me Buy It
Sunday 8 April 2018 • Beauty
Being an active member of the blogging community and reading lots of different bloggers posts, I often get exposed to lots of different, new products. I'm not going to lie, I'm very easily won over. When products get rave reviews, more often than not, I'll purchase. If it's a cult product, I almost nearly always will buy it. In other words, I'm a shopaholic and need to reign in my spending. Lol jks. That'll never happen.
I thought I'd share some (certainly not all!!) of my "bloggers made me buy it" buys. I've tried to credit the bloggers who either I've spoken to or their reviews which have convinced me but some of the products I've read hundreds of reviews about the product and therefore, I hold the blogging community as a whole, responsible (on a side note, I wish I could put emojis in my blog posts because crying laughing emoji is definitely applicable here!).
Kylie Jenner Lip Kits
Alice is one of my original blogging inspirations, she's one of the main reasons I began my blog in the first place and her post on KJ Lip Kits got me wanting a KJ Lip Kit. The liner is soft and creamy and comes out without much pressure and the lipstick dries beautifully matte. The only thing I would say is that they are quite drying and I can't wear them everyday for this reason as I have quite dry lips naturally.
Kat Von D Everlasting Lip
I've seen these banded around the bloggersphere and I decided to give them a go. I love them! The colours I got, Lolita I and Lolita II, are rich and creamy and have longevity. Although, like the KJ Lip Kits, I do find them rather drying and they can peel off if your lips are too dry so make sure to moisturise before and after use!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour Kit
Around Black Friday, in our group chat, myself and Debra-Bow kept sending each other links to fabulous make up deals- hello BeautyBay and your delightfully cheap Morphe palettes! However, this is one of the links we sent- ABH contour kits were on 50% off and we could not leave them there. I love the ABH contour kit, and I actually prefer it to my longstanding favourite NYX palette. This will forever be a firm favourite and I'm fully converted to the ABH way of life.
Tartelette Palette
Becca has been my long time go to make up inspo gal. She's obsessed with Tarte and she's managed to get me onto the hype. I'd been lusting after the Tartelette Palette for months and months before they finally had a discount code on it and I took the plunge and bought it. I'm not going to lie. I LOVE IT. It's quite similar to the Urban Decay naked palette but because I'm obsessed with red's, brown's ang gold's I was sold from the moment I used it. The eyeshadows themselves are also very pigmented and definitely worth the money.
TooFaced Born This Way Setting Powder
The credit for my purchase of the TooFaced Born This Way Setting powder lies between Becca again and Laura Lee. Becca introduced me to Laura Lee's youtube channel and I'm obsessed! I watched this Laura Lee video and decided I needed to purchase the setting powder. I'M SO GLAD I DID. I absolutely adore it and it's beautifully matte, the way I like my make up.
Have you been convinced to buy something because of another blogger? I'd love to know I'm not the only one!
