Fed up of brassy blonde hair? I've got the perfect shampoo for you..

Sunday 20 October 2019

I have been searching for a gentle but effective purple shampoo for my hair. Not an easy feat, as you may or may not know, I have extensions (which I've had for roughly six months now) and also peroxide blonde hair. However, my search has come to an end and I'm here to share the results with you!

You're not supposed to use strong purple shampoos on extensions, as it can damage them and they also may absorb the purple colour much more than your natural hair. However, as my hair is now 'lived in', and my natural hair was becoming slightly brassy, I reached out to my hairdresser (Paige from Legally Blondes in Salisbury) to help!

She recommended Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo, so of course, I bought a bottle! It retails for £13.95 on Beauty Bay, which is think is fairly reasonable!

My hairdresser recommended that I 'water' the shampoo down. So, I mix the Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo with my usual shampoo (the Resurrection Tigi shampoo!) on a 50:50 ratio. I've been doing this once a week, and it's kept my brassiness at bay without clinging to my extensions!

I'm really happy with the results, and I'm thrilled I've found a purple shampoo which works with my hair colour and extensions. Super happy with this result!

Do you use purple shampoo? What do you use? I'd love to know!

XOXO Molly

PS. Please be super super careful when using purple shampoo and please consult your hairdresser if you've got peroxide hair or extensions (or both) like mine!
